I am trying to get back on track with posting my great deals! The last couple of weeks have been crazy busy with school, sports, mini vacation and my DH out of town. Today's trip to Bilo was a quick but great one. I bought $21.88 in groceries before savings/coupons. OOP was $4.95. It would have been an even better trip except they were out of several items that I wanted so I got rainchecks. My best deal was the Campbell's condensed tomato soups that were on sale 5/$3 I got ten cans and after coupons paid 12 cent a can! WOO HOO! I was super excited as soup can be expensive.

Okay, I freely admit it... I can't stay out of a grocery store very long. I love shopping the deals. I am just fortunate that most of the stores I love are within a few minutes of my house. I had to go past a publix today so I sat down to plan out a quick 10 minute shopping trip. My savings were a combination of Publix store coupons & manufacture coupons that were about to expire. so this is the break down of my Publix trip:

Publix shopping trip deals 7/8

I finally made it to Publix this evening. With husband and child trailing behind. I try hard to not have to take the kids with me because I can focus better on my couponing. Now, after taking my loving husband I think he is just as bad as the kids. I would be focusing on my couponing and turn around to put something in my shopping cart, only to discover items in my cart that I had not put in there. I told him he wasn't allowed to grocery shop with me anymore...LOL. However, I still managed to walk away with a pretty good deal at Publix, even with the distractions and extra items I had not planned on buying. The cashier even commented how well I did. My husband's reply to her with a smile on his face was "it's an obession", I replied "it is", he definitely had me there. My goal when grocery shopping is to at least get half off, if not better on my total bill (usually it's more than half ). This is the break down of my Publix shopping:

2. Filling out info for free samples online- alot of times a coupon is sent with the sample
3. Searching for store coupons while shopping
4. Sunday Paper- You can also ask family/friends for their coupon inserts if they don't use them so that you have multiples of the same coupon (these are great for the BOGO free items at grocery stores)
5. I subscribe to the All You Magazine which has quite a few coupons in it each month.

I had some ECB's (extra care bucks) that I needed to use so I bought 4 Soy Joy bars today at CVS. They were on sale 4 for $4 and you get back $4 in ECB's. I had a $1 off 4 soy joy coupon and 3.99 in ECB's. I also bought the sunday paper which cost $2. So my total spent out of pocket (oop) was $1.01 after ECB's and coupons and then I got back $4 in ECB's to use on my next visit. Not too bad for a quick shopping trip.

I have spent much time over the last couple of months researching the ins and outs of shopping with coupons. I can't believe how much I have saved already! I have decided to log and keep track over the next year of my expenses on food and household items. I thought blogging would be a great way to keep up with this and also possibly help someone else learn how to be frugal with coupons.
